    Bringing sons to glory

  • Lessons

Focus on the LESSONS of your circumstances. Ex. Mark Roberts’ book was brought into my life to show me a resource for the venture (as a blogger, scholar, etc). Need to let go of forcing myself to ‘finish’ if the lesson has already been learned. Let go of MY rules and focus on what God is trying to teach me.

  • Sanctification

    • After justification comes sanctification.  You are now a work in progress. Ultimately glorified by being resurrected with a new body. Some will receive more glory / reward than others.
    • Ok… you’re saved… what have you done with it? Now what?

  • An Eye for an Eye

You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.  But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
    – Matthew 5:38-39

The Bible does not teach “an eye for an eye” in this verse.  Jesus simply said to His listeners that they have “heard it said”.  That doesn’t mean He’s promoting the concept.

  • Teeth Mashing

Posted on August 7th, 2008 michael No comments

I have been suffering from an affliction of teeth "mashing" for quite a number of months now – maybe at least 4 mos.  This morning I prayed to God

I come (kneel) humbly and reverently before you Lord, and pray that you would relieve me of my affliction of teeth mashing.  In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Then during my normal lunchtime Bible study (Chuck Missler), I pressed play on my iPod, and within 1-2 minutes Chuck was talking about teeth mashing and how he believes that many people in heaven will be disappointed (mashing teeth) because they realize how many opportunities they squandered to serve and please God.

This really hit home for me.  What are the odds of my praying about that this morning and Chuck’s message on this being so aligned.  It’s the hand of God on my life – telling me to GET GOING on the opportunities before me.
