Good Soil

I wonder if “good soil” is actually simply humility – the antithesis of the first sin (pride). Repentence is actually a form of display for humility (a subcategory). A humble person can admit they were wrong and ask for forgiveness from an authority – a proud person may not be able to, and may not feel they need to answer to anyone.
