  • Not where, but how

I prayed about whether making an offer on the house was God’s will. The answer surprised me. At first, silence. Then, I got the impression that His will for my life is independent from my living situation. That is why He has been silent on the subject!

My take-away from this is that my happiness and my relationship with the Lord are totally independent of where I live. In that light of truth, I need to stay grounded from deriving happiness from this move (if it happens). Conversely, any pain should not be attributed from where we live. It’s not where you live, but how you live that matters.

Could the same be true for work?? (it’s not where you work, but how you work that matters to the Lord?)

Living in [city] will not make me happy (or my family). It will not make us unhappy either. Our happiness is independent of where we live.
