    • Great video on Sabbath
    • God will judge based upon the light available to the person
    • Whenever in doubt – Do What Jesus Did (DWJD) – Sabbath
    • The commandment about the Sabbath begins with the word ‘remember’ – maybe God knew people would forget…
    • Jesus wants a love relationship with us.  In order to have a love relationship, you need quality time
    • “But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God;” – Exodus 20:10
      • It’s not the Sabbath of Israel, not the Sabbath of the Jews, it’s the Sabbath of the LORD thy God
    • You can’t keep the spirit of a law, but break the letter of a law
    • It’s the seventh day, not a seventh day
    • God gave us baptism to remember the resurrection – it never says He changed the Sabbath day to Sunday to remember the resurrection
    • Am I going to follow Jesus, or am I going to follow what’s popular?
    • His elect will be sealed in the last days.
    • A seal represents three things: territory, title and position
    • The characteristic of who God really is, is in the Sabbath commandment: in six days, the Lord (position), created (title: creator) the heavens and the earth (territory)
    • By recognizing the Sabbath, God will bless you through the observance of His day.
  • Ezekiel 22-23

    • God’s laws / rules are black and white.  Do not get coerced into relativism and accepting shades of grey, when there ARE absolutes of right and wrong, good and evil.
    • Cities tend to be the focus of all that is evil.  People tend to get their spiritual strength, their growth, away from cities, when they are by themselves
    • It is even a sin to cloud / grey the distinction between good and evil
    • “The only thing that man has learned from history is that man has learned nothing from history.”
    • God uses the object of our lust as the mechanism of our judgment
    • Forgetting God is the fundamental issue behind all sin
    • The two crimes in the OT that were punishable by stoning: murder and adultery.  Our current culture seems to wink at adultery

    • “Family intimacies must never be shared with others–not even with parents. It is a great sin and a tragedy to break this God-given rule. A third person to sympathize or listen to complaints is a tool of the devil to estrange the hearts of husband and wife. Solve your home problems privately. No one else (except your minister or marriage counselor) should ever be involved. Always be truthful with each other, and never keep secrets from each other. Tell no jokes at the expense of your spouse’s feelings. Vigorously defend each other, and strictly exclude all intruders.”
    • "Love is forbearing and kind. Love knows no jealousy. Love does not brag; is not conceited. She is not unmannerly, nor selfish, nor irritable, nor mindful of wrongs. She does not rejoice in injustice, but joyfully sides with the truth. She can overlook faults. She is full of trust, full of hope, full of endurance." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
    • Criticism, laziness, disorder, filth, and jealousy endanger marriage

  • Holidays

Chuck Missler talked about how our traditions (holidays) are actually pagan in origin.  He views it as an experience of nostalgia, but admits that it may be more spiritually pure to not celebrate these things.  He recognizes that we are in the world, but hopefully not of it – Satan is the ruler of this world.

  • Planning

It seems that the Holy Spirit is really leading me recently to recognize God’s will and teach me that I don’t have to have everything all planned out when I truly trust God.

  • Walking with God

If I were walking with God at X time, how would things have been different? Try to take the ‘hindsight factor’ out of it.

  • Lessons

Focus on the LESSONS of your circumstances. Ex. Mark Roberts’ book was brought into my life to show me a resource for the venture (as a blogger, scholar, etc). Need to let go of forcing myself to ‘finish’ if the lesson has already been learned. Let go of MY rules and focus on what God is trying to teach me.

  • Faith

You don’t need faith in God to know He exists (creation itself is evidence). You do, however, need faith in Him if you want Him to do anything for you. Just like you’d need faith in a builder to have him do anything for you.
