  • Moment to Moment Prayer

    • Had a quick prayer tonight.  I was straight up with God in that I don’t understand how prayer can really be a frequent thing, or moment-by-moment.  I want that close of a relationship, but how is there that much to talk about?  I asked him to show me how the type of relationship he wants is possible.  I learned that the prayer I just said is exactly what will make this type of relationship possible – an exchange (long or short) of honesty and forthcoming nature.  He can take that in whichever way He chooses.
    • It may be helpful to actually visualize that I’m speaking to Jesus.  This does not mean that I get chummy – it means speak to Him in a way that is honest and forthcoming and loving, knowing that He loves me more than I can even imagine, and just be real with Him.
  • Really Prayed

    • I really prayed today.  I came to the Lord following the AWCIPA approach (just provides structure to prayer), and it was a great experience.  I felt that I connected with my creator.  It wasn’t an ultra-powerful, earth-shaking experience, but a subtle whispering, which is what I have learned is what to expect anyway.
    • I am exactly where He wants me to be – focusing now on my relationship with Him.
    • He wants me to continue working on MBD, but noted that He is not asking for me to quit my job or invest my family’s resources, yet.  I didn’t get the impression that it would be asked of me, just that it’s not being asked of me now.  He said that, if anything, the work I do will help in the growth of my relationship with Him (which is worth it, in and of itself).

    • I prayed for [my wife], [my oldest daughter], [my middle daughter], the baby, mom and [step dad], dad, [step mom], and [brother H], George Bush, and Israel.
  • Relationship

It’s not a matter of my relationship with God, it’s a matter of my relationship with Jesus

    • God’s strength is rendered powerless because
      • The stick(s) that’s damming up the flow of God’s power (Sin, not reading enough, not taking your prayer life seriously, not taking church seriously, tithing, serving, etc)
      • Remove the stick(s) and you will receive more power
      • This is something that should be a constant focus – even as you experience more of God’s power in your life (the flow), there could still be sticks in the way that are preventing freer flow and even more of His power.
      • There is something that you have that belongs to God – you’re stealing from God (money, time, credit for works).  Everything belongs to God, including your body, your skills, your talents.  Are you using it His way?  It has to be all about Him.  Do what you do to glorify God.
    • God is glorified when your prayers are answered
    • Is there a relationship issue that you need to clear up?
    • If you’re obedient over ‘here’, God blesses you over ‘here’ (somewhere else)
    • If God is working in your life, you will do what’s completely opposite of what your flesh wants to do
      • Your carnal nature is at war with the spirit of God
    • If God is calling you to do something, you can do it.  But the longer you wait, the harder it will get.
