Amazing Facts – Session 11 (death and afterlife)

• Satan is a master at painting the Lord with his own paintbrush (his own characteristics)
• The dead are in their graves, not in hell, until the Day of Judgment
• The penalty of sin is death – not everlasting life (even if it is in torment)
• There is a lake of fire – for the second death of the unsaved
• Born once, die twice – born twice, die once (or not at all)
• Hell is for those who make a bad ending

My Wife

[My wife] has been feeling very sick and tired these last few weeks.  I have been contributing in many additional ways, and it feels great to do so.  I feel that I am much more present than I was when she was pregnant with Caitlin.  However, tonight and last night, [my wife] actually stayed up a bit with me, and it seemed actually a bit uncomfortable – like I was anxious to get to ‘my stuff’ (study).  I need to focus on her when she’s available.

• Obedience – Have you been humbly obedient to the voice of God?
• Teaching – Describe what God is teaching you in your small group?
• Secrets – Do you have any inappropriate secrets?
• R – Reaching the lost by living an evangelistic lifestyle
• Salvation – Whose salvation are you pursuing?
• Obstacles – Describe the obstacles you were faced with this week
• Discredit – Did you do anything to discredit them?
• M – Ministry
• Spiritual – How are you using your spiritual gifts?
• Design – Is the focus of your serving (ministry endeavors) consistent with God’s design?  Find out what your gifts are and serve there.
• Word – In what ways is your serving and ministry motivated out of your study of God’s word?
• Y – Your money
• Entrusting – Do you acknowledge that God has entrusted you with your resources?
• Honoring – Are you honoring God with your money?
• Truthful – Have you been truthful?
• Have an accountability partner to ask you the questions
• It will help you think twice before you do (or don’t do) something
• It will help you grow
• Think about how many people are in the line going to Hell that are one question away from going to heaven.
• Witnessing – thinking about it makes us nervous, but once you get in it, it’s no big deal
• God made every person exactly how they are.
• When you get out of your gift is where you get frustrated.
